Look what I found in the weirdest place

Rewired my compartment lights (replaced with LED strip lights)so i can turn them on via the Nav light switch and took the circuit breaker panel off. What a weird place for boat serial number lol

Interesting, I knew the HIN was in another place in the fiberglass somewhere, but that's a new one.

Maybe designed to identify stolen boats. Most criminals aren't too smart. So where exactly did you find this ? I would like to see if my boat is the same.

I’ve heard of the HIN being “engraved” into the deck under the carpet. Never have seen one like this, tho. It looks too fancy to be plain old factory. I wonder if a prior owner had it made.

When I replaced the front pedestal base in my 2003 Champion 206 a few years ago I found a HIN# plate in the tray for the plate when I removed the bedding compound

I found one that looks identical up under helm on front wall towards the top under the glued carpet. Only reason I found it was I the carpet started to come loose around the edges. It’s identical the the one on the transom. 1995 171dc
