Ranger has a hole in center of plate in the stern. Bolted threaded rod to it, secure the prop with a large washer and wing nut.

I prefer the bag for many reasons. You can put it anywhere in the boat, Grab and carry it with ease, protects blades from damage, hangs on a wall in garage, holds spare hub kit, Throw in the back of the truck and dont roll around, fits in any boat, ... Just a few reasons. I'm sure there are more. The threaded rod and wing nut are OK too... But most boats dont have one or have a place to add one easily.

I use the RPM bag also but leave the prop in my truck. Lakes are small enough that TM will get me back. Much easier to switch it out on trailer vs standing in water IMO.
