    Caddo Lake

Good afternoon gentlemen, my buddies and I are planning a trip to Caddo this coming sprint. I had a few questions. One, we have found a place to stay but its about 4 miles up the river. Can we run down the river to the main lake or is it full of obstacles? We would like to avoid a long, slow trip to the main lake every day. Second, we were thinking mid April, is that the right time for the spawn? Any other guidance or tips are greatly appreciated!

I would say the river is the safer of the navigable water. The lake is relatively shallow everywhere, and you must undersand the boat markers.
Krips and Johnson Ranch area used to be real good and the area through the State ditch

You will have no issue running the river to the main lake. I would not get outside the boat lane markers while on plane. March and April are a great time to fish Caddo.

Thank you guys for the info. Does anyone know the detail available on the Lake Master mapping for Caddo?
