    Question Trolling Motor for 21XD

    Having to replace my old OMC trolling motor. I have noticed the MinnKota Ultrex stands taller when closed, will this be a major obstruction in my view while traveling on the lake? What motors are most using on the XD series? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Visibility over the Ultrex is not a problem for me but I am 6'3"

    You will lose a couple of MPH on top end due to the extra weight of the ultrex. It is taller and could obstruct your view some when idling around. However it is worth every penny and if it cost me 5 mph I would still own one. Just my opinion. I love my Ultrex!!

    Mine starts driving funny at 87 with the Ultrex butttt like stated above....don’t care it’s worth it and I’m still way faster than most around here.

    52" Ultrex for me. I lost about 2 mph with mine vs the old short shafted motorguide but the benefits far outweigh the negatives.

    45" ultrex on my 21xrs....does great on any lake including erie. I can see just fine. Set up on port side.

    21 xrd with a minn kota ultrex, 80 pound thrust 24v. and totally happy with this set up. no visibility issue at all.
