    TRX 18 setup

I just bought a 2016 TRX18 with a 150 merc. I have a tempest plus 21p with 4 1/2" prop to pad. Do I need a water psi gauge and if so where to put it on the dash??

A water pressure gauge is always a good idea. You did not mention a jack plate but one will help with your set up.

You already have a good prop. I would raise engine to 3 1/2" below pad. Once you have a water pressure gauge start raising the engine 1/4" at a time until water pressure or speed drops then go back down 1/4". Of course keep an eye on your tach to not exceed your mfg. recommended RPMs.

Let us know how it goes.

Maybe consider a mercury vessel view mobile? It’ll tell you water pressure and a lot more. I thought the 18TRX came with a water pressure gauge.

I believe you are correct. You are. Just checked a 2019 Triton Brochure and listed under Convenience and Comfort " Padded dash with Tachometer, Speedometer, Voltmeter, Fuel, Trim and Water Pressure Guage.

My 2015 came with a water pressure gauge.

1Holeshot gave you good advice on setup. Same way I have done it since the 80's.

Just remember, with the Vessel View Mobile, you still need a sending unit to pick up water pressure - even with it.

My 2017 18trx didn't come with one. I bought the vessel view mobile but I don't have the sending unit either.

I love my vessel view mobile! I have a 2013 150 PRO XS and plugged in the VVM and bought a phone holder. It's awesome!
