    Old Town Kayak

I'm leaning towards getting an old town sportsman autopilot early next year. I know they are backordered but does anyone have one and what are your thoughts so far both good and bad.

    Thanks

I just saw this thing in Field and Stream here in NC. Went to their website and viewed their videos. Pretty nice...and has me seriously considering it. The only thing that I noticed, that I didn't like, was the fact that you have to use the little remote to adjust the speed or stop the motor. Our local Field and Stream (Dicks) had two in stock.

Old Town products are solid. The sportsman models are Cadillacs, all of their fishing platforms are very well thought out. They are Johnson Outdoor products, same as Humminbird fyi.

I like those Old Towns! I bought my son a Perception Outlaw, first yak. Looks to be built well and should be stable.

Does not come with a battery so if you go lithium you are another $500-$1000 into it. I want the spotlock but think i will end up with the 106 powered by minn kota. Hoping i can feather the throttle while facing into the wind and imitate spotlock for $1000 less.
