    Polarkraft 195

guys I run a polarkraft 195 that has a very similar hull to the tracker 195. I see a lot of guys claiming 60+mph with the tracker just wondering what your prop to pad height is. wanted to use it as a starting point for mine i am at 3.5 prop to pad. can hit the rev limiter(6200) with 2 big guys at 57 with a 25p prop so I am going to a bigger prop (probably a 27) just getting ducks in order to start tuning

    thanks

99% of the time, you just can't run the same height on a iron hull that you can on a glass. Your symptoms of too high: roostertail above cowling. Really stiff steering, boat runs flat, prop slip is above 10%.

Let's start there, plus the Zukes run some funny gear ratios, which makes prop selection a little whacked.

prop slip around 5%, rooster tail no higher than cowling, can trim it up all the way to get the boat squirrelly, hydraulic steering so hard to tell if it is too stiff. and yes they run a crazy gears
any thoughts on props? thinking a tempest 26 or 27 to get the rpms down

This is all theory and guesses, I've never setup one of those hulls, and only zuke history I've got is on tunnel hulled flats boats.

My experience with the performance aluminums, I've been happier with four blades over three, mostly for handling and control. The tin boat disturbs the water way more than glass, and fighting cavitation is always a top issue.

All that said, I'd have to bring a big truck load of props to the lake to find what we're looking for. In addition to the tempest, I'd also have a 26 trophy, and a powertech TR04
