AVX Weights ??

I can’t find any weights listed for the Vexus boats. Does anyone have any info on boat/motor weight and boat/motor/trailer weight ? Dealer didn’t have the numbers when asked. In particular, I’m looking at the AVX 181 and 1880. I have a smaller SUV and
am curious about towing weight. I also plan to store boat on a drive on lift. So boat/motor weight could be important.

I have been wanting to put my 1880 on a scale. I do know it is heavier than the Ranger rt 178 I had. The first ten feet I towed it I knew it was heavier.

A two door Jeep JK Wrangler. Not towing far and all flat terrain, but want to be safe.

Found my certificate of origin from Vexus on the boat and trailer for my 1880.
Boat 950 lbs
trailer 900 lbs
motor 115 Proxs 359 lbs
32 gallons fuel 201 lbs
3 batteries at approx 60 lbs each - estimate 200lbs
Now add trolling motor and gear.

I tow mine with a GMC Canyon and have no issues.

I tow mine with a 2010 Mountaineer...no towing package. It's really geared for fuel economy. It does ok until you get a decent sized hill, and uses gas like crazy when towing. But it works. A decent sized V6 with the right gearing will do fine.

I'd like to share some data provided by Vexus in reply to my request for information. Hope this helps.
Capacities/Hull Weight –
AVX 189 – 4 Persons/630lbs/1,245lbs
AVX 1880 – 4 Persons/727lbs/1,500lbs

AVX 2180CC - Boat 1,600 - 200hp Mercury 505 - Trailer 1,200. Add in batteries, gas and gear and your 3,800 or so.

Dang! My Bullet 21XRS (21’ 10” long ‘ glass) dry hull weight is 1,350.

The hull weight on a AVX 189 is 1,731 lbs without a motor.

That seems heavy at 1700 lbs. A Ranger RT188 weighs 1180 lbs. (single console) and the registration for my trailer states that it weighs, if my memory is correct, 450 lbs. I can drag my trailer sideways across the concrete floor in my garage so it certainly doesn't weigh 900 lbs. I'm certainly not that strong (I wish!). Heck, the Crestliner MX21 is listed as having a hull weight of 1567 lbs. and that boat is an aircraft carrier and made of 0.125 metal. I really don't understand why Vexus isn't more up front on weights, heck you have tow these things and its important.

Vexus rep told me the AVX189 is approx. 1,300 lbs, AVX1880 approx. 1,500 lbs

I contacted Vexus again about the boat weights with trailer and motor and here is the response I was given direct from Vexus:


The 1980 tow weight will be around 3K pounds and the 1880 will be a couple hundred less than that.

The 189 tow weight will be about 2500lbs
