I would say the majority of them are very similar to that style of lakes. lots of them are erosion control or smaller drinking water lakes, also Lakes made by campgrounds for recreational activity or flood control reservoirs. Although you do have the lakes in northern Iowa like Okoboji, spirit, I think there are like glacier lakes possibly?
But yes I’d say the vast majority are lowland and some natural lakes in the northwest part of the state
And yes, Okoboji and the like are glacial lakes.
Overall, I’d say Iowa has some pretty good diversity between lakes. Albeit, there’s not much diversity within the lakes individually. It’s like if you find yourself fishing a particular type of cover in a certain lake, that is probably the only kind of cover that lake has to offer. Yet you could go to a different lake and not find that cover there.
