My helix 7 is telling me when i save a trail or a waypoint that it is saved but it dosent populate on my map and it is not in my stored screen. Has anyone experienced this and is there a fix?

What is you Saved Track Defaults?
Do you have Screen Snapshot Waypoint turned on and no memory card in the unit?

I'll have to answer first 2 questions later today or tomorrow. Only card I got in it is lakemaster card. Is there a place that shows internal storage vs storage used?

No memory usage file that I know of.
A waypoint is saved with a quick push of the MARK button.
A snapshot is saved by pushing and holding the MARK button for about 2 seconds.

Wayne, saved tracks is visible. Screen snapshot waypoint is on. Not sure of version or where to find it. It'll hold the waypoint till I power it down and when power up its not there. Trsil dissappear as soon as I save it

The default Saved Tracks is a very light grey dotted line. To make it more visible, you can edit it to a solid line and another color. You can also change the Saved Tracks default to your choice and won't have to edit them unless you do a Restore Defaults and it goes back to the light grey dotted line.
The software version is displayed on the SYSTEM STATUS view. You have to change that view to Visible so it is displayed in the Views rotation.

It is definitley the screen snapshot, mine did the exact same thing. ( Turn it OFF)
Wayne is right about the default trails being very faint. I couldn't see any until I changed the default as Wayne describes.

Since you have not stated the whole model name of your unit, just checking the updates I have, I would guess you have one of the second generation Helix 7's and it is at least six software versions behind.
