    Point 1 question

Just came from Garmin to Lowrance and have a relatively newby question. With my previous Garmin setup I had their steady cast heading sensor which was nice due to mounting flexibility. My question is that since the steady cast connects on a NMEA network will it work with Lowrance HDS live units. If so can it be calibrated? I really do not want to mount another point 1 sensor on my boat and the ghost already has its own which I am assuming cannot be shared with the network. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

To the best of my Knowledge the steady cast software being garmin will prevent it from displaying on Lowrance, so you will have to take the SC sensor out and put a point one in its place. And you are correct the one for the ghost is non network-able.

If it was calibrated with the Garmin units, why would you need to recalibrate for the Lowrance units? I'm sure it would work as I used my Point 1 with my Garmin units with no issues. Worked just like it was on my lowrance units.

It is a N2k sensor so should work.

Thanks y’all. It’s a whole new boat entirely so i don’t have either the point 1 or the steady cast yet.

Misunderstood, starting from scratch, might as well make everything match.

No worries, thanks man. I assumed there would be no compatibility between Lowrance units and a Garmin steady cast sensor but I wanted to ask first.

The real question is why didn't they make Ghost sensor/Point 1 interchangeable???
