just ordered this and found out it may be/is discontinued. I don't want to be caught behind on something that is obsolete and will not be supported for future updates. What would be the comparable unit? Garmin has so many SKU's it's had to understand what is current and what is discontinued.

1243 is the new one
1223/43 Is the new version that is the replacement. Little more slim and sleek and a few odd and end features. But the 1222 plus is an incredible unit I ran them for a while and loved them.
