How many miles can you/would you put on a Tundra?

I was scrolling some used trucks and came across a 2015 model Toyota tundra 5.7 with almost 244,000 miles on it. How much longer would you expect you could run that truck? Is it about done or one that was built really well? At 40k-50k miles per year, you know it wasn't in the shop much right? Btw, the asking price is 14,500.

The motors seem to be bulletproof but that’s getting up there for other things to start failing

I have a 2012 with the 4.6 and just passed 186k and still going strong. With the proper care I am shooting for 300K. Have seen a number of them over 400k and still running strong.

Doing my own maintenance and using quality lubes, I expect 300k out of a yota.

I was able to limp mine to around 80,000 before I ran out of vacation time and money taking it back and forth to the shop for repair. Finally dumped it and went to a different brand.

My 2011 was just shy of 380,000 when I sold it. I never had any issues with the truck in all those miles. In fact, I see it on the road every once in a while as the guy that bought it lives in the same town and works in the same area as me.

400K is not an unrealistic expectation. There are plenty out there with more. I have had several go into the upper 300s when they got totaled. They were going strong at the time.

There have been 2 one million mile Tundras with very minimal repairs. With that said, 244,000 miles are getting up there for your average truck, especially at that price. I would think you could find a lower mileage Tundra for that price.

Most trucks properly maintained will last well past 250k, northern trucks will give way to rust.

I've owned just about all major brands; researched for over a year on what my next new truck would be....no loyalty to any brand....I've kept my last two trucks for 13 & 14 years so I don't trade them out just to get a new one every three or four years. Having said that, the last two trucks were easy to perform maintenance on myself....new trucks not so much...I've got friends with new trucks that have the cylinder deactivation or something similar to improve mileage...you could feel it when each truck deactivated and activated the cylinders...I didn't like that...the Tundra doesn't do that...It's a V8 from the time you start the engine till the time you turn it off...the history of the V8 being a reliable engine is well documented...I know Toyota is way behind with creature comforts and the mpg is terrible....neither of those aspects were high on my list...I want a truck (engine) that will last me 10+ years and tow my boat till I'm to old to do it any longer...

I had two hundred and thirty something thousand on a 2001 when I got hit, and totalled it out.
Got 2006 I believe, to replace it. At two hundred and thirty something thousand I hydra planed, totalling it.
Got a 2008 to replace it. Have put lots in it. But it has over two hundred thousand.

At that price you can do better. At 6-7k I’d consider it.
