I have a 998c and the temp function is no longer working. It tells me the temp is 7*. Last week it was working. Does anyone have an answer? I have to use the Lowrance on the bow for the temperature.

Could be a failed sensor.
Could be a bad connection, clean the transducer plug pins and adjust them slightly in any direction--pay attention, they still have to line up with the tiny holes on the unit receptacle.

Used the boat this afternoon and the connector is attached to a block that connects 4 plugs into the unit. It seems tight. The temperature jumps around and never settles down. Everything else works good and it's on the same plug.
Found and fixed the problem. A critter chewed the transducer cable about 6" up from the transducer and severed the red wire.
