USA 02’ Comanche Ideas for 10-12” Graph at helm

Looking for ideas for mounting a 10” or 12” Garmin at the helm of he boat. This boat does not have a tilt wheel and I’ve been told that a large graph won’t work behind the wheel. So I’m looking for solutions to see what some of you have come up with for your older 99’ thru 02’ Rangers. Bow ideas would be welcome as well but not quite as problematic.
    Thanks in advance.

Thats going to be tough. I had a 99 and the console is made from some cheep fiberboard like material. I had to and a Lexan plate from the back ro support the weight of the graphs.
    Good luck

I have a Balzout mount at my console with the short arm. I had the big Ram mount before. It did not hold in the rough. Current mount works great. I have 12 inch Lowrance on it. Its through bolted to flat spot to the right of my console which, on my boat has reinforcement in the fiberglass.

I fish St. Lawrence River mostly with some Lake Ontario throw in and it holds up.

    I have an 02 Ranger 520vx

When I had my Comanche I reconfigured the dash and kept the Trim and RPM gauge on the right. Installed a Deck-it mount. It was justified a bit to the left, and I had to cut down on the left side of the Deck it mount because the helm was dished a little. This was a Carbon 12 and this setup worked great for me.

Here is my 2002 ranger 520vx with a helix 10 to the right and an 1198 mounted on the dash. I did have to use some 1/8 inch aluminum behind the dash to stiffen it up.

I have my 12” lorance mounted on one of the largest ram mounts offered. It mounts to the flat part of the fiberglass just to the right of the wind shield. Allows me to see all the gauges and where I’m driving just fine. Real nice for guy in back of boat too.

Also have a 2002 520vx and have a 16" Live mounted on a balzout mount on the flat portion of the fiberglass console to the right. Much more stable than the Ram mount.

If your console looks like this, we can do it.

I made/welded a bracket to fit a 12" lowrance around the original 5" graph, so I can still use the 5" for mapping. Then my lowrance 12" is above it. Made backing plate to mount on backside.

I have mine set up the same way but I have the 9" Balzout and 7" Elite Ti2. Balzout is the way to go, it will only move if you move it.
