    Amp draw?

I've got a helix 10 msi g2 and helix 10 di. I'm thinking about getting a small lithium battery just for these to run off of. I'm trying to figure out what AH battery I need to get. I don't have room in my bilge to put a group 27 or larger for my cranking battery so I'm limited to a 24 on it. Just trying to get some load off of it.

1.2 Amps each. You might get by with a 30 Ah lithium. If that is all you have hooked to it. Turning the brightness to 8 will help also. I would put in a 40 minimum. Bob

Where did the 1.2A come from, the Helix user manual is 2.8 to 3 amps for 10" and 12" Helix CH...........

The individual unit specs don't match the manual specs.

That is odd. Which one is correct?

I finally got around to checking the actual amp draw of my units. With both units on it's a total draw of 2.8 amps brightness on 10. With brightness on 8 total draw dropped to 1.8 amps. I couldn't believe the difference in draw with just dropping brightness by 2. Still haven't decided on a battery yet. Just thought someone else might want to see these numbers.

    2.8 x 12 = 33.6 Ah
    1.8 x 12 = 21.6 Ah

If you keep the brightness down that 23 Ah battery might work.
Do you need the brightness at 10?

I have been running them on 8 already so that's not a problem. Looking at the age of my cranking battery I've almost decided to just go ahead and get a 125ah lithium cranking battery and solve the issue.
