    Tohatsu motors

Anyone know much about the 2014 Tohatsu 115hp motors? I know it’s a 2 stroke direct injected with 200 hours. All I can really find is Honda private labeled them for awhile. Good?? Bad?? Thanks all.

If it is a 2 stroke it is not a Honda.

A lot of pro’s (net type pro’s, not tournament pro’s) use them here in Australia for their dinghy’s, if they weren’t reliable and durable they’d soon have a length of chain welded on and be used as anchors!

Great motors made by Nissan. Virtually bulletproof. I only wish they had made a 150.

I may be shopping for a bay skiff here in the next few months and rig with a Tahatsu/Nissan will not deter me (especially the 2 smoke). Been under the hood of a few and they're simple, yet get the job done. As with most of them - feed it good gas & oil, keep up quality fuel lines and a water separator etc.

Several.of us run the Nissan/Tahatsu little motors on our duck rigs - and have for a long time. Change the impeller every other year and theu have been flawless

Tahatsu is a good enough motor for an Elite Series Pro to use in a Team Open today and take 2nd place. River Ratz Bass Masters - Home | Facebook

I ran Tohatsu for years dude. Very very reliable. I would not hesitate to buy another. I ran it hard, trailered it everywhere, no issues. I had the TLDI direct injected model.

Tohatsu is the second largest outboard Manufacturer in the world, have made smaller motors for both Mercury and OMC. The 9.9 was a beast on the 10hp lakes. I have a 8hp, I got for free, nice little motor.
