Have a old All Star Rod...... E785CB-GT2, 6'6" line wt. 8-20, lure wt. 1/4-1 1/2 oz. Can anyone give me some info on this rod. I've probably had it 20 years. Don't remember what I used it for.
Thanks Chad

Gt-2, crankbait rod. More of a moderate action. My partner has one, great for rattle baits. Nice alternative to a traditional longer cranking rod. Chatterbaits, squarebills. Nice rod to have around. Don't see them for sale often.

If I didn't have a bunch of fiberglass rods for cranking I probably would have bought one of these 20 years ago.

Is it a green blank ? I remember seeing those in Cabela's years ago. I'm sure those were after All Star was sold. The original ones that I have anyway are a charcoal colored blank with marron wrapping.
They were a different color than regular classic rod, possibly a composite blank. Can't remember. Been awhile since I scoured catalogs before the internet. The "E" might mean E glass.

I’ve got a GT2. It gets a lot of use.
If my memory serves me right the original all stars rods were manufactured in Houston, Texas.
