Silly question on dual cable steering???

Does it matter which tube the cables go to after you run them through the boat to the motor?? Also do I lubricate the tubes after cleaning them and if so what do I use some say lithium grease others say marine grease and some say none...lol I'm confused. I know the manufaturer's instructions say not to add any grease or whatever to there product either helm or cables but don't mention the tubes???

Doesn't matter which tube, no tight bends , use a little bit of light marine grease, keep the dirt and dust from building up on them with cable boots.

It’s a rubber sleeve that goes over the rods on the end of the cables. They compress like an accordion.

Also what about greasing the steering tubes? I read where the manufacturer doesn't want you to add any lubricant to the helm or cables themselves but don't mention anything about the steering tubes??

Well finished the install today on the steering cables. had to pull the motor off to get the right angle for the cables to line up and go into the steering tubes,I lightly greased the tubes with OMC triple guard grease and took the manufacturers word on not adding any lubricants to the helm or cables and slid them in and button them up attached to the helm and then slid the helm in place and good to go , it is so smooth and easy I'm going to going in donuts out on the water compared to what I had ...lol just never realized how stiff it had gotten over the years But all is well and good to go thanks to those that gave me info or guidance
