    Scum on Jackplate

What is the best cleaner to use to clean the scum and water line off of your jackplate? Something that will not harm jelcoat if you get a little on it.
    Thanks

Wondering if one of those little known household products like Coke or WD-40 would do it.

Is this an Atlas? If so use the Eagle One etching mag wheel cleaner. Do not use it on colored plates or Bobs

It is aluminum, Skeeter 12'' jackplate.
Will the Eagle one mag wheel cleaner hurt jelcoat, if you got it on it or the motor paint?

I always try to be careful when spraying it on but occasionally get some over spray on the back of the transom. Doesn’t appear to have ever done any damage though.

One part white vinegar, one part dish soap, and one part hydrogen peroxide. Mix in a spray bottle, spray on give it a couple minutes wash off with garden hose. Might have to let sit longer depending on how bad the scum is. I also wash my boat and carpet with same solution.

I looked on you tube for suggestions. I like this idea because it was cheap and if it didnt work I was out very little. 50% hydrogen peroxide and 50% lysol toilet bowl cleaner. Peroxide was 88 cents for a quart and lysol was 2.97 for 2 24 oz. bottles. I bought a 7 dollar 1 gallon sprayer and gave it a try. I think it worked great. As soon as it hit the scum you could see it dissolve away. I used a brush and went over it lightly and then rinsed. Looked pretty good to me. As soon as it dries out around here I will put some wax back on as I am sure it got removed from this stuff. In the pics you can see where the starbrite hull cleaner ate right thru the scum but like I said it wasnt economical as a 10 dollar bottle didnt do the whole boat. The other pic was after I used the concoction I made. Hope this helps for anyone else with this problem.
