Bartender here... A really good one is made with very high end tequila. If it don't cost over 60$ don't even bother. Fresh squeezed lime juice. Frosted glass. No mixes, no crushed ice slushy crap. 1 shot serious tequila, juice of one lime. 1\2 shot of quality triple sec. Shake with ice till metal gets icey, strain into frosted glass. Salt glass if you wanna look important. That's a real margarita that anybody can make. sit outside and enjoy!! First thing that will come off is her shoes... When you make drinks with quality liquor and ingredients they come out good.
My tequila friend who works on my bike has a few bottles that run about 150$. He has some high end trip sec too. Has to order special.
A 100$ bottle of tequila and a bunch of limes is way cheaper than the slush puppies at applebees.
A bar set and glasses might be a good Christmas present for her. Add the 2 bottles and you got a thoughtful gift.
I got an antique juice press that must be 70 years old and weights about 10#s!!!

    Guilt Free Margs

    Trust me..give this a shot..
Non traditional family favorite no guilt recipe...low cal, low carb

    Juice of 2 fresh limes
    2 shots white tequila
1 small packet Margaritaville Sugar Free mix
12 oz clear lime sugar free soda

Mix all except soda first. Gently stir in soda last (dont beat the fizz out of it). Pour over ice with or without salt. Enjoy.

Try other sodas, have used diet Sundrop also which is good.
You can find the mix online, but we get it at local grocery cheap (Schnucks). Lemonade Crystal Lite can work in a pinch

We used to go to Mexico every year. While in a liquor store I said “ Look at this Jose Cuervo $3 a liter” The store owner was shaking his head no. I asked him, What? He said it was panther pizz. I asked which Tequila is better? He said everything on the three shelves above it.

A friend ( BBC member) asked me to pick him up a bottle of tequila he likes. At that time it was the highest priced bottle of tequila I saw in that city. Only one liquor store carried it and I purchased it on sale for $50.

I found a bottle of tequila in Reynosa that I really liked, Only name I remember on the bottle was Angels

o2bfishing, what was the name of that tequila

Get the ready to drink margarita from Costco. Gotta get it from the outside liquor store. Not the stuff they have inside the main store made with wine. Best margaritas I’ve ever had and ready to drink and $9.99.

Hey Dave - how you been? Happy Thanksgiving.

That bottle of Tequila was Herradurra Anejo (would never waste it on Margs - thats sippin Tequila).

So here's a little BBC worthy story about what happened with that bottle of Anejo I don't believe I ever shared with you. Feeling old now...that was about 2006 timeframe, when my yet to become a Marine and get his shit together male offspring and tournament fishing partner was finishing up his illustrious high school carreer. Let's just say those were some "challenging" times.

That bottle of open but nearly full Tequila lived on top of the fridge with the other booze. The unnamed eldest child decided one day that it would be a wise decision to "rebottle" said Tequila in an empty Mountain Dew 20oz bottle and take it to school. What could go wrong? For extra stealthiness, we'll wrap the MD bottle with duct tape (WTF?).

That afternoon I get the "Is this Mr Beach?" call from the HS Principal..."Come get your kid".

In his divine wisdom, my ex wife's son thought it would be a good idea to slam all 14 oz or so of the remaining Anejo (on an empty stomach) during lunch recess. He recounts the walk to Social Studies class after his "lunch "as being a bit wobbly. Takes a seat in back of class for the movie they were having that day.

You can imagine it did not take long for the inevitable to happen. The peace and quiet of the classroom full of movie watchers was soon interrupted by the gut wrenching sounds and smells of tequila being spewed all over the floor in the back of the classroom. That earned him the one armed escort out of there and an unscheduled OSS vacation.

Ahh yess...don't your kids make you proud?

PS - Try the Herradura Reposado - easier to come by and less $$ than the Anejo...and quite tasty and smooth.
