Watching a Great Blue Heron grabbing and eating a 10" Bullhead catfish off of the dock was an eye opener for me

Crazy how they move so slowly but move their neck to look like it is swaying in the wind or whatever they are doing to not alert the prey.

Cool video. Watching his neck kinda lured me into a hypnotic state. Then it occurred to me that it was probably intended that way and helps him hunt.

Seen a few Great Blues trying to swallow fish too big and walking around with it hung up half way down the guzzle.

A rose, by any other name....

"Is an egret A white heron?"That narrowed down the choices to an egret or a heron, although an egret is technically a type of heron."

I was using Greenbacks for bait while beach fishing, the time or two I forgot to close the lid a bird like this grabbed a snack. Another guy down the beach didn't have a lid, every time he turned his back the thief would sneak in. It was comical watching that bird!
