Differences between Pro XS and Four Stroke (150HP)???

My buddy is looking at purchasing a new Tracker Pro Team 195 Tournament Edition in the Spring. He is looking at the option between the 150 Pro XS vs. the regular Four Stroke. What are the advantages/disadvantages regarding performance (speed, etc.), gas mileage, getting up on plane, and/or any other info that you could provide. What prop do you use on your motor as well and if you use something other than the stock, why did you chose that? Thanks and best wishes on the water!

Biggest differences are the mounts, RPM range, Gearcase & Gear Ratio, and decals. The ProXS uses a lower gear ratio, which opens a wider range of props that can be used (only real exception is an extremely light hull).

With that particular boat, I'd opt for the ProXS.

    Don,
In your opinion is one more reliable than the other?

No. Reliability should be very similar. Choose the correct engine based on the APPLICATION.
