    Used ATV prices

I'm really bored these days so I thought I would buy a 20 year old ATV and fix it up.
Holy crap! People want 2 or 3 grand for one that was that price new.
Is this COVID related? Anyone else shopping?

with low new stock and the demand for them I would say it's partially related. But even before it seemed like a 10 year old ATV was only half the price of new.

Prices are insane right now. I just sold a 2007 Arctic Cat 400 with very low miles for $3K. Had people lined up to buy it an hour after posting on FB Marketplace. NADA priced it at $2K. I should have listed it for more, but needed it gone.

I'm in the market for one as well, and it sucks! For what people are wanting, I'm probably going to spend a little more and get a side by side.

That’s true. But look at the cost of new ones. Everything used is going for premium prices right now.

I was picking up parts for my quad earlier this year and due to covid the shop was out of every single type of dirtbike, atv, and sxs they were waiting on shipments of everything.

Side by side and atv market is hot like the boat market. If you wait 6 months or so I bet you’ll get a much better deal.

I got near my new purchase price a few months ago for a 2017 Polaris General side by side. And had five other people begging to buy it at my asking price within a half hour of my Craigslist ad going up. Sellers market.

I sold my 2004 Polaris 400 sportsman for 3900 two years ago. My dad bought a brand new 450 with electric steer last year for 5500. Used ATVS hold their value pretty well if taken care of. My 04 also only had 750 miles on it.

Worse thing is people have no respect for these things.
Bust them up and then park them outside.

I work at a dealership and we haven't been able to trade for used machines this year at all. People are selling on their own then buying new, used prices are crazy. We recently took in a 450 Rhino that sold for less than 6K new in 06. We got 5500 plus tax out of it within a week or trading for it.

SXS, ATV's Dirtbikes etc are all catching stupid money right now. $20k sxs's are fetching close to 30 out here in AZ. It's ridiculous

Just checked my local dealer's inventory. 16 kid size Polaris ATVs, 1 450 HO EPS for 7299, 1 570 for 6999, and one 850 EPS for 10599. I bought my 17 570 as a dealer demo with 13 hours on it, winch, windsheild, and lock and ride rear cargo box for 5300 in the fall of 17. I bet right now I could get 500-1000 more than I paid for it as ice fishing season approaches here in MN. But replacing it would be difficult right now, so I will hold onto it.

Prices are stupid on used ATV's same could be said about used boats as well, deals do come along once in awhile though.
