Just getting ready to upgrade some finders. I’m looking at either an Helix 8 or 9 gen 3 with MSI at the console. Haven’t been able to compare the units as stores are closed do to Covid. Just looking for input on is there really that much difference going from an 8 to 9
Also going with either an 8 or 9 up front with just GPS and 2 D
any opinions / feedback would be appreciated
The 8 and 9 have the same size cabinet, just the display size is different.
BIGGER is always better with a Side Imaging unit since image sizes are based on the selected SI Range.

Ok thanks. I guess price is important too. I can get an 8 with a mapping card included for $1680 while the 9 is $2000.00 with no card
Another way of looking at it is ANY Side Imaging is better than no Side Imaging. Even the Helix 5 SI unit fits that train of thought.
Most would state get the largest unit that fits your budget.

Great points. I guess price is important because I’m cheap but I guess without any experience I just was wondering if anyone has gone from an to 9 or even 10” and saw the increased benefit , keeping price in mind.
Not sure where you coming up with those prices, but they're about $500 higher than they should be.
