    Bass Boat Dollies

I've read many, if not all, of the older threads on this topic. Last one was from like 2015 or 2017. So, since I have this ahead of me, I thought I'd ask a few questions and see if there is any new information on this topic.

    Situation:
    - Garage: 27.5' by 23.5'
    - Garage Height at opening: ~80"
    - Boat: 2012 Skeeter 20i iClass with Dual Axle Trailer - 250 Sho - 12' Talons (but they fold down)
    - Boat Length: 27 feet with tongue out and motor stored normally
    - Boat Length: 23' 9" with motor lowered and tongue folded
    - Boat/Motor Height: 82" motor stored normally, 75" motor lowered
    - Boat Width: 9' 3"

I'm building a new house. I had the garage lengthened to 28' and it is by default 24' wide. I'd like to move my boat from its current storage location to the new garage and store it as far to one side as possible. Seems to me this will work, although take some time to do and get used to doing. However, it seems if I want to get it as "out of the way" as possible, I'm going to need some boat trailer dollies.

    Questions:
    - For anyone using boat trailer dollies, what kind do you use? Do they work well for you?
    - When using Boat trailer dollies, do you use a Trailer Valet for the boat jack or just let the boat jack wheel role?
    - Anyone have experience with GoJacs?

(Interesting video comparing GoJacs to HF Dollies: )

    - Is it a pain in the a.. to store your boat this way in your garage?

Thanks for any advice or experience you all might offer.

If im reading the page right, that's $153 each.. or am I missing something? I still think in the long run they'd be worth it.. but I'm still young enough and strong enough it's just a hassle, and not a major pain yet

Any reason you can't park it close to the wall when you back it in? I can park mine within 2" of the wall backing it in when I need to. Also depends how much room you have between the garage door and the side wall.

I have to slip my Ranger in the garage at an angle. I tried the HF dolly and so found out why they cost less. I purchased the GoJacs and they are worth every penny. much easier to move the boat around

Might be possible, but since the home's not built, I'm just planning for various scenarios.

Are you limited by code or lot size that you can't build bigger to make life easier?

HF doesn't have the Red Dollies anymore. I just replace mine after 8 years with the Grey ones. Better wheels and rolls allot better.

Those of you using a pair on a tandem axle, do you put them on the front or rear axle?

I put mine under the front axle, made moving it around a breeze.

Yea, the house is a standard home from a Mass Home Builder, with option to customize some pieces. I increased the length of the garage 4 feet to get the biggest they offered. And, I got a "commitment" from the foreman to ensure the opening was at least 7'.

So far so good on those things, but it's all so close... I wished I had the options of doing one of those custom garages, but I don't so trying to make the best of this...

If it works out I will be ecstatic. I currently store the boat in a nice storage facility, but it's like 20 miles away. I'd like to be able to go out in the garage after work and piddle around with stuff. I could get a smaller boat, but dang, that doesn't sound fun. This one's is perfect for what I use it for.

I used GoJacks for my 22' boat for 5 years now. Best money I have ever spent. I can move that beast around the shop myself.
