I've read many, if not all, of the older threads on this topic. Last one was from like 2015 or 2017. So, since I have this ahead of me, I thought I'd ask a few questions and see if there is any new information on this topic.
Situation:
- Garage: 27.5' by 23.5'
- Garage Height at opening: ~80"
- Boat: 2012 Skeeter 20i iClass with Dual Axle Trailer - 250 Sho - 12' Talons (but they fold down)
- Boat Length: 27 feet with tongue out and motor stored normally
- Boat Length: 23' 9" with motor lowered and tongue folded
- Boat/Motor Height: 82" motor stored normally, 75" motor lowered
- Boat Width: 9' 3"
I'm building a new house. I had the garage lengthened to 28' and it is by default 24' wide. I'd like to move my boat from its current storage location to the new garage and store it as far to one side as possible. Seems to me this will work, although take some time to do and get used to doing. However, it seems if I want to get it as "out of the way" as possible, I'm going to need some boat trailer dollies.
Questions:
- For anyone using boat trailer dollies, what kind do you use? Do they work well for you?
- When using Boat trailer dollies, do you use a Trailer Valet for the boat jack or just let the boat jack wheel role?
- Anyone have experience with GoJacs?
(Interesting video comparing GoJacs to HF Dollies: )
- Is it a pain in the a.. to store your boat this way in your garage?
Thanks for any advice or experience you all might offer.
