I’ve been reading posts about Optimax air compressor (ac) issues and the various reasons it may/can occur. I began to wonder how extended periods of engine use during the day effects the ac. I assume these engines are optimized/built for sprinting and stopping as we gun it and fish our favorite fishing hole(s) throughout the day.

However, with the proliferation of graphing tools, we can spend much of our fishing day sprinting and idling instead. We race off to some structure, idle around for however long it takes looking for fish on that structure, and if no fish found, hightail it to next spot. It’s possible to repeat this several times before ever turning the big engine off to fish.

In this scenario, the engine could be sprinting/idling 60-75% of trip with little off time. So, what impact could this have on the ac or the engine in general?
