Anyone make it out over the weekend ?

Made it out to Loon pond in Gilmanton.
No parking so I had someone drop us off and pic us up.
Another slow day but alot better than I have been doing.
Water temp was 43. 7 hours with 6 bass to show for it.
I caught 4 lg and my friend caught 1 lg and 1 sm.
Biggest was a lg a little over 4. All on jerkbaits but the biggest on a okashera screw head. Looks like Friday may be nice out.
Get out there while you still can.

Got out Friday and Sunday to a spot out in Vermont. Water was 48-49 Friday and then 47-48 Sunday.

Managed to tie my PB smallie at 5.00 lbs, with a few heavy 3's to go with it, and a 3.5 lb largie for good measure.

Went Sunday with my buddy Andrew and had the best day of smallmouth fishing we've ever had. Andrew caught his new PB smallie at 5.00 lbs as well, and a 4.88 and 4.63 lber to go with it. I caught a 4.69, 4.50 and 4.06 lb smallie to round out the day for our biggest, and we had another dozen or so in the boat that were mostly 2's and low 3's, with just 3 rats on the day.

Slooooow dragging stuff on the bottom in 45' of water has been the ticket. Blade bait bite still hasn't quite taken off but it's getting close there. Going back Friday hoping for a new PB...

Hit Newfound Sunday morning for a few hours. Water temp 42-44. Found a couple of rats in 30-35' but just just didn't have the time to try more places.

That is an excellent question. This place may be spring fed? lol no idea and a wild guess there. It's not even that big either, nowhere near as big or as deep as Newfound yet still warm.

Fished Stumpfield on Saturday for 3+ hours, threw a finesse jig only, super slow, targeting the main fast drops within sight of the beach. Also worked the same in front of the launch area (where there's a few laydowns near the edge). No bites. Did run into a couple gents (in a fish & ski Ranger) that got there early and had picked up one. Water temp was 39-42, air breezy.

Went to Gregg for 2 hours late on Sunday. Worked the outside of the ledges w/ the two red spars with a deep jerkbait @ 5-10 second pauses, then ran back through with a deep crankbait (the only things that's been producing anything for me, since the temp touched 45) - then hit the big hump and the trailing rocks off the black spar with same. No bites. Water temp was 37-41.

I had a pretty good spring with the jerkbait there in similar temps, I'm eating crow (and worse) this fall!

Tim, I'll probably get after 'em tomorrow. Although it's currently 88, warm, no breeze but blue bird skies.

Man I haven't fished that lake since I was a teen. Always loved that lake and always caught good fish there. How was the water level?

I've only been there a couple times.
    Like everywhere else it's low.

Main stem of the Merrimack was 37 also Saturday, 40 in the 393 backwater (lots of floaties, pretty muddy - could see pink braid to about 12"). Worked that over for 1.5 hr with a Ripstop and a deep Pointer for 2 crappies.

We did get out for about 4 hrs,on Fri. caught 6 bass and a bunch of other fish, ( well Jane did) I caught 2 of the bass , Jane had 4 with the best of about 2 3/4 lbs
The 2 I caught, hit a - 1 and Jane's fish were all on a Shad Rap in about 4 ft. of water that was 48*+ or - .
Don't know if we will fish today, but we should get out, we have some bad weather on the way ..
    Play it safe out there....
