Caught 9 large mouth all around 2 pounds or so.
Also caught a bunch of crappie and some huge yellow perch.
It was nice to get bit most of the day for a change, even if it was crappie or perch half the time.
Everything caught on a jerkbait or keitech.
    happy for ya!

Tim, happy that you got out, we will not be having too many more good days out there. We fished on Fri. and caught 9 bass also , the best 2 1/2 lbs. Jerks and Shad raps water 45 *
Wind came up and it started to rain , this time of year, you do not want to fish in the rain.. Not us old people anyway ?

I went up to Winnisquam last weekend. The water is still warm 47-49. We caught around 25 smallmouth. Most of them came out of 10’-20’, on spidergrubs & bladebaits. You wanted to drag that spider and they would thump it. Fish didn’t seem to be grouped up. Had a few over 4 pounds & the rest all solid fish. Was hoping to get out this weekend but looks like I’m pulling out the skis instead. We did see a guy wake boarding😳

Glad you are all still getting out.
Yeah I'm not fishing in the rain either this time of year.
Sounds like a good day on winnisquam. Surprised the water was still that warm.

Most of my fish were caught on them this year, some nice ones too.
Except for the spring. Jerkshad and jerkbait was working for me then.

We got out today for the PM, water was 42*-45* very slow to start, but Jane caught one on a Shad rap in about 5 ft. of water over the dead coontail and then 3 more..the 4 th. one she caught was 3.1 and about 5 min. after,, I caught one in the tail that she weighed at 3.1 also ???? ( same bait) I had two for the day and she had six so 8 bass in not so bad ?
The weather is going to go to hell in the next few days ..
If anyone goes out, play it safe ..

Managed to get out Sunday for 2-3 hours on a local 112 acre pond. The bass must have been belly-down, as I couldn't seen any on sonar. Worked 3 spots with the blade, got four bites on the last one - all in an area smaller than my kitchen - and landed three right around the 2# mark. They were in, or just outside, what's left of the deep grassline at 16'-18'. Water temp 38, was fogged in for a while.

Glad you all got out and caught some.
I couldn't find any open water around here.

Yup went back to Vermont on Saturday, water was down to 41 degrees. Found tons of fish stacked up in one area, belly scraping in 40-50'. Grinded all day for 6 bites for me (dropped one that was 4+ at the boat) and my buddy Andrew caught 9 over 8 hours of fishing. But we both had a 4.3+ and 4.2+ smallie each, and Andrew added a 4.16 lb largie for good measure. I had another 3.66 lb smallie and the other two landed were close to 3 lbs. Just quality bites all day. Probably the end of that spot for the year though with this cold weather this week. Probably head for the cape or Candlewood next weekend.

Tried yesterday to get out but all my local holes had a thin layer of ice. Good to see you got out. I will hopefully be standing on the ice by next weekend....

I hear you. I've been tuning up the ATV & snow machine & picked up a softside and heater - plan on going into hibernation until a nurse comes looking for me:)

Thanks man. Definitely put in the time to figure out the magic pattern out here. I've been dying for the freaking blade bait bite to go off over there, but I'm not complaining!

I think yesterday crosses Clement off the list for the season - might make it in, but not coming out! (25" up this way) With the prevailing wind exposure, Nubanusit's launch should be open?... how deep can one's masochistic streak run?
