    What differences are there on the running surface of the early TR models and current models.

    I know my 2020 model 18 TRX hull at 1690 # seems very heavy.

    The fastest hull was the 200XP hull center console
    It was a one or two year hull that was designed as a race hull with a fishing deck
    They were trying to start a televised fishing show that included racing as part of the show
    They were also the hardest of all Tritons to drive

    next were the early TR hulls (late 90s)
    They were lighter and faster but had to be driven.
    The later TR hulls (2000s) were fast but they were a little heavier do to more bracing and higher engine ratings. They had to be driven as well

    Next would be the HP hulls. they are a little heavier yet still fast and they benefit form more Horsepower (majority 250s vs 225s on the earlier boats}
    The HP boats have to be driven as well

    I have had an 03 TR21 with a 225 and it ran 74 with 2 people
    My current is a 14 21HP with a 250 and it runs 78 with 2 people

    There are films on YouTube of the 200XP hull at and over 100MPH

    I have a 2004 TR21 PD with a 225 efi and it runs 78.6 with just me and 77 with a partner. The 02, 03 and 04 are heavier but are faster if set up right.

    2008 tr 20xhp here. One of the few years they let you put a 250 on the 20 foot hull. It is upper 70 light (have seen 79.8) but 74-76 with 2 people and tourney load. Best boat I've ever been in.
