great topwater rod with short butt stock-need advice

Alpha Angler is having a sale on their Slasher right now. I happen to be in the market for a jerk/top water rod. My current rod is an Enigma 6.8ft MH with a very short butt stock. This is one thing that I love for working these baits. Long stock gets in my way. Alpha Angler doesn't list their handle length. Looking for some help finding a short handled rod. If AA is any good id love to pick one of those up.

I'm not sure on the length. However I e-mailed them when I had questions before I bought my DSR. Steve replied back in a half hour. I'd shoot them a message. I'm sure you'll get an answer within an hour.

Check out the new 2021 Megabass Levante Jerk Bait Special. It has a nice short handle and is designed for fishing jerk baits, and makes a fine top water rod too.

Give Alex @ ALX a call and talk to him. He will point you in the right direction. I believe there a sponsor on here and he is also active on here. Great to support companies that help and support us.

I have a very old (mid 90s?) Berkley rod, 6’9”MH that is simply perfect for jerkbaits, topwater, spinnerbait, just a great rod. The butt length is shorter by about an inch and a half from the normal rods these days but for the life of me I cannot find anything built like it.

Im considering sending it to Alex and asking him to build me a “modern” version. I’m almost positive I bought this rod at Walmart and I know it was cheap!

Check out our ZOLO Jerkbait. It has a shorter handle specifically for working tip down. It also has an oversized, cushioned hood nut for your finger when working the bait as well.
