Yes that was the case back in the day, not sure if it still is.
You are correct. However, if a boater and co-angler register together for one tournament or the whole season, then they will both be garaunteed entry. They will not be paired together in the tournament unless they happen to be paired during the random computer draw.
...And Winner89..I already have a garaunteed co-angler but I will check with the other guys in our travel group and you should not have any problem finding someone to link up with.

tip of the day....Co Anglers before getting all excited and picking any random boater.do yourself a favor and make shure you PRO has a reputation of making Regionals.Last think you want is to be looking for a new boater three to four events is because you PRO dropped out.

The BFL is a random draw for your boater
It is random but if you sign up(link) with a boater/non-boater, you can guarantee entry just in case they have don't end up with an even number of entries. They give priority to people that link together.
