    ID YAMAHA SPEED GAUGE

This gauge is on center console, witha a 2017 Yamaha 250 hp 4 stroke.
speed and miles per hour are not showing up.
i think the harness may simply be not connected under center console.
but not sure what kind of connection i am looking for.IMG_5514.JPG
have pic of front of gauge and back of gauge for help.
and is this a yamaha 6y5 or 6y8 if anyone knows.
    thanks

    thanks for reply yam911
i see the wires on back of gauge match your jpg diagram.
    great pic.
Time and Battery function fine, get zero(0) reading for trip.
not sure what wire to trace out for trip miles/mph,blue or yellow,.
my boat is in lift over water,so i cant easily get to wire harness on lower unit to trace that from stern to center console wiring, so i am trying to work from back of gauge to wherever it connects to lower unit wiring.
    any advice?
    thanks

Have you read your owner's manual?

yes yam911,have owners manual for the 250.
gauge data is general.have reset the trip by pressing set and mode together ,shows 0,but does not change when boat is moving .
    no wiring diagram.
wires from behind the gauge are all connected under the dash.
that pic of wiring diagram you sent is best that i have seen.
i think i probably have a disconnection of wiring from lower unit harness in back of boat to the gauge.

but i dont know if i am looking for the same color wires or something different?
    thanks for your advice.
