The powers that be - in their infinite wisdom - have closed the lake because of the covid virus. Guess all that fresh air is bad for you

A couple of the guys that work there are in quarantine, so it’s shut down for two weeks.

Bummer. Not that I was able to go anyway with a broke down boat. What are the odds of a trim motor and jackplate motor both going out? Good, if you have my kind of luck.

Nope. I have disconnected both and tried to make them move by touching them to the battery. Neither one works. The jackplate was slow when I bought the boat, but I have never had one before. It went out a couple months ago. I was just lucky it was still in a spot where the boat would run. The trim motor went out last month. I did learn where the bypass screw is on Yamaha motors though. They are also very heavy when you have to pick them up by hand. Glad I was not by myself when it happened.
