Sunday was the gun opener in MI. I took a buck that I had mistaken for another oneat 7:30 a.m., and then at 8:30 a.m. I shot another buck I've had my eye on.
I was using my Ruger American in 450BM, and hand loaded Barnes 200gr XPB's running just over 2,500 fps at the barrel. One shot was 130 yds, the other was 135 yds. Both were heart shots, and required zero tracking.
Had to abandon the recovery at one point due to a lightning fill Tstorm. Resumed once that passed, but was greeted to a hard sleet storm for the remainder of the recovery. Thus no nice pictures from the field.
