Another prop question, Perf 4 BC

Any of you fellas with a 300R tried a Perf 4 BC yet, if so what’s the good or bad of it? I have not but thought I might, thinking it might blow out to bad on holeshot from being an over hub prop. Never ran on over hub prop yet.

Steve Bishop has ran a new Performer 4 blade overhub specifically designed for the new 4s on a 21XRD/300R & I think he liked it. I think it is called a Performer 4FC.

I would be surprised if the new V8 4 strokes could even get on plane with a bullet cup performer 4...

I know this doesn’t answer your question exactly but I’m running a 21xrd with a Yamaha sho. I’ve run several performers and other similar props and hole shot has always bin pretty good. I’ve even run some 3 blade over the hub and they do great.

Aside from the new 5 blade cleavers they are the fastest props to date on the Allison XB-21's running Optimax motors and that stayed the same on the new R's. I have 4 BC's right now and they simply can't be touched on the top end and I have yet to run a prop that can compete with my P3 BC in the 5-100 acceleration test. That includes the merc CNC cleaver. I have zero issues on holeshot with mine. Now I will say I have tested a bunch of these. They are custom made props and they vary on who cut them. I did a test one day at the lake with 3 different P4 BC 32's. That day I had one go 104 on the limiter, 102 on the limiter, and 94 on the limiter. That same prop that went 94 on my boat went 101 on a Stroker.

Here is 5-100 in 24 seconds in just over 2200'

There is a major difference in the hole shot on a Bullet as compared to the Allison's. A close friend has no problems coming out of the hole with his XB 21. While I can run the same prop and blow it out terribly. These motors act completely different on the two boats.

I don't see it being an issue being a bc is a 15" prop. It's my favorite prop on my 21ss with a 2 stroke. If you was a little closer I'd let you give mine a try.

I would love to try one on my SST. What lake is close to you. I don't have a problem driving to Hazard. KY. I have a buddy that lives down that way.

My local lakes are pretty small so there really isn't enough room to see how well a bc would perform. Low 80's is the best I can do solo on this lake. If you still wanted to try some stuff out I have all kinds of props. 26 uncut performer 4, 28 performer 4 bc, 28 lab pro et, 29 hydromotive xob, 30 lab promax, and 32 lab pro et.

A big pro ET or a performer 4 would be interesting to me. I've got a few hydromotive XOB. There the ones I'm blowing out. As well as bravos. I don't think the over hub props will do very good when the boat breaks over but would like to see for myself.

My set up is different, but I ran a Perf 4 BC on my 20' Bullet XDC with a 250R (flashed). Hole shot was a little lazy but it was >30p, but the blow out was manageable, (not near as bad as what I was anticipating). I didn't have my hydraulic jack plate at the time I tried it, (which I have one now), would really like to try it again with the ability to start low and go high with the jack plate, might be interesting. Also, I tested it with full tank of fuel and livewell full to the rim. Mid-range was impressive, top end- couldn't get the rpm's because motor was too low and maybe too much pitch.
