Mega Live!!!!

yes weird, once sentence says usable with all solix, but some are not mega+. also most helix are not mega+ either. glad my new boat is coming with two Solix 10" g3's

This is what I was told

You can view Mega+ imaging on a G1 Solix via the network from a G2 Solix
You cannot connect a Mega+ transducer directly to a G1 Solix

Since the Mega Live will connect to your graph via a network connection rather than the sonar connection on the back of your graph this means a G1 Solix can view the image

No one has confirmed this but I’m betting there is some form of processor built into the Mega Live transducer allowing it to connect directly to the network rather than the sonar plug

Maybe all we'll need is a beefed up "Dumb Terminal" that can handle marine rigors and just plug into it like an old computer monitor.

You know, that ain't really a bad idea. Get all the processing away from the screen, and just let the screen be a monitor. Some of the big salt water boats are basically doing that now with touch screen displays.

I have a MS Surface Book, touch screen, hi res. If I could get a HB signal into it, it would be rockin.

That is the approach I have been preaching for a while .... it is entirely possible with an Ethernet system.

In computer terms, it is what is called client server architecture. It was the way most business computer systems were done in the days of mainframe and mini computers. When PC's came along, more and more of the processing was spread out to the PC's.

With dumb or even semi-smart monitors, the system could be upgraded by replacing the "server" and keeping all the monitors .... or update monitors as higher resolution offerings come available.

The draw-back to that system is that if the server goes down the whole system is lost.

I would guess no, since the MEGA LIVE is an Ethernet accessory.
You would have two displays and the MEGA LIVE connected via the AS ETH 5PXG Ethernet Switch.

Based on the pictures, looks like it might be tricky to run a Hydrowave and a Mega live transducer on the TM shaft.

Yes plus an Ethernet Adapter to connect the Ethernet cable to it.
