Watching the BASS Open on Lewisville this past weekend I noticed a couple guys had three shafts at the bow, Ultrex, Live Scope and m360. I don’t know if I could lift the Ultrex out of the water with all that weight, but would like to see how the m360 and Live Scope (Mega Live) are rigged to the Ultrex. Anyone have pics of the rig?

A toilet plunger might weigh more than a MEGA360, not heavy at all. I can't imagine the "live" style transducers to weigh that much either.

The Ultrex MEGA 360 used to be listed at 7.5# and now shows 12#. I guess the lowest weight was without the mount.

I have the 24V Ultrex and changed the lift assist piston to the 36V version to help with the extra weight.

I did this for awhile, MEGA 360 and 360 on an Ultrex

with POE power over ethernet you would not need a seperate power cable. That is why they went with the direct connection to the head unit. There is no POE from the ethernet switch.

Very noticeable difference in raising my 36 volt Ultrex when M 360 is mounted.

they are posting information in the Garmin forums of a new livescope system in the works that if true will blow away any current system

    Thanks, Wayne.

Some people just don't get it and have too much money burning up their pockets.

I want to see it. If it gets out before early spring season, I'll decide whether Mega 360, or Mega live, or maybe stay with SI, but I ain't pre-buying anything. I just don't understand. The need for status must be hard to live with.

Going to be interesting to see what the final product will be. Odd's are is that the final product design is sitting on the shelf waiting for marketing to release at just the "right time". Garmin is probably the best at keeping things tight lipped until its ready for announcement.

I think this may be the third shaft I saw on a few boats during the Lewisville BASS Open. I just wonder how this is rigged with a m360 too. Gotta give these guys credit, pretty good idea. A little expensive, IMO.

That would go on the other side of the trolling motor sort of like the dual 360 picture in post #105

I built me a version of this a while back. The force has so much lift assist I cant even tell I added anything to it.

Nope. Peeps are getting their pant... wading trousers wet over what is essentially the patent of the original livescope with a bit of additional trickery. It's far from revolutionary.
In essence, it's normal Livescope with a second element that allows to tell whether a particular target is left or right from the main axis. This can be used to track and follow a particular fish, for example. It cannot be used to reconstruct a 3D volume, in contrast.

I would love some info about what you built. I would rather build my own too.
