As everyone knows, I preach the use of OE parts and gaskets/no aftermarket. Here is an example and tip to keep you from doing a job twice. I have replaced 3 powerhead to adapter gaskets(blown/leaking) in the past year on V6 flat back crossflows/not bubble back 175-235 hp. The problem was that when the powerhead was removed/rebuilt/whatever, the powerhead to adapter gasket was replace with a thin/paper like aftermarket gasket or the thin OE original part number #0323214. I use the re-designed OMC/BRP HD version #0335503 on those years. Installed properly, will never leak. Some models had #0333658 and those are HD and ok to use. Bottom line, dont use aftermarket and replace thin paper gaskets with HD parts and be done with it. Also double check your shift rod height if you do upgrade.
