395 TF question

I have an 01 395 with the deck extension. I'm going to have the top cap re gel coated. My boat has sentimental value to me as my dad bought it for me 10 years ago and has since passed away. So I cant justify buying a new one. With the deck extension it leaves an open cavity under the lid. Has anyone ever closed that area in and had it glassed and painted? If so can I get some pictures? I want to do it and maybe a step/cooler to the front and get it painted with the cap. New seats and console are going to cover the original cooler. Top cap is beyond a wet sand and buffing job

That’s one thing I miss on my 195 was taking that deck insert out and having room for a cooler or just open up floor space .Its seems the bass boats of today have lost allot of the multi species fishing and geared to bass only.

I just hate the limitations on storage in the front deck though. If I could glass that in it would make a ton of difference. I only ever bass fish

Why not make a glass box that is still removable if needed that way it’s not permanent
