If it’s true, that’s absolutely amazing.. they were amazed at 90% effectivity, 95% is almost unheard of. I hope it’s true so life can move on. I also hope they don’t mandate vaccines and let people choose for those who don’t want it

Clickbait: "Moderna's Coronavirus vaccine has shareholders smiling". While I am all for company's making a fair profit, I find this "headline" disturbing. It sounds like the race to make a vaccine is not to help humanity, but to maximize profits from human misery.

Profits are what allow research to continue. Unless we want all research funded by the Govt. the companies have to make something for the shareholders. Sometimes it backfires, for a disease that isn't widespread or is really costly to treat there may not be much research done because the potential for profit is too low to recoup the development costs. Doubt they make much on a COVID vaccine unless it's a yearly injection.
