    Spark plug electrode opening

I have a 225hp 2014 Mercury optimax proxs 2 stroke. When installing new spark plugs does the electrode opening have to be indexed a certain direction?

No need to index Mercury plugs, that's a "rude" thing. Gap them correctly, install, torque to 20lb ft, and press on.

    Good information above.

Equally important is the CORRECT spark plug, gapped correctly.

If you would, please take a few moments to review the Announcements at the top of the Forum, and be sure to provide the Required Info (serial number) when posting. Thanks!
