    Re power

    Ok I have a 1999 astro 20ft,I have been running a 175hp till it blew,so now I have 2 options to repower on my budget,#1 a 2011 merc 200hp pro xs 85 he for 8 k, or a 2019 4 stroke proxs 150hp for 9k with 5yr warranty with .07 he, my question is will the 150 4 stroke push a 20ft bass boat? Any thoughts

I have a 2 stroke 200 Pro XS. 2010 model. It may blow the next time I use it but so far it has 0 problems I have never ridden in a boat with the new 4 stroke Pro XS. I understand they have a lot of torque which should give you a decent hole shot. That is all I can say The 5 yr warranty looks good om the 4 str. Wish I knew more bout the new Pro XS 4 strokes but I don't.

Geez. Not sure a 150 is enough for your 20' . I have a 225 on the same hull and wish it had a little more power most of the time. Put the $1000 you'll save in the bank for emergency repairs and go with the 200hp.

Go with the 200... I think the 150 will be light on push.
