Check out Sturgeon creek marina on Facebook. This is the off season but we normally do a winter series. During the spring and summer they have Tuesday and Friday evening tournaments that are a lot of fun. They do keep weights for a team of the year but a lot of guys just fish the one's they want to. Some opens will pop up but mostly in the summer. Lake Anna Champion series is a good group that fish a few Saturdays every month. FFC is a local club that fish Anna and surrounding waters like the Rappahannock, Potomac, chickahominy and maybe some others.Don't let some on this board fool you, Anna has some good fish and the weights have been going up over the years. 20 pound bags are a norm now but you need to learn the lake. Potomac has nothing on Anna anymore.

open on the chickahominy river this weekend. Upper chick gets pounded to death and fishing can be tough... still rather fish it than Lake Anna

where did he move to? Anna has nice fish. It may take a while to learn the lake. everything looks fishy, but looks are deceiving there. boat traffic gets horrible once the weather warms up. I did notice a few sections marked that no longer allow wake boat surfing. There are plenty of tidal rivers here in VA that are fun to fish as well. You will catch better numbers on the rivers. There are no shortage of tournaments throughout the year.

The Sturgeon Creek winter series kicks off tomorrow and runs weekly into January. A lot of the best sticks on the lake fish these with some of the highest weights of the year needed to win.
