    Painting wood deck

I’ve got back deck- wood. I’ve stained it every 2-3 years past 12 years; replaced all bad boards but thinking I’ll paint it this time around. Selling it soon as we ve bought new house - any reccs on a good deck paint? Any regerts with paint vs stain? Thanks

Have had good luck with Behr Stain/Preservative combo product that Home Depot carries. Lots of color options. Covers and protects well.

Solid body acrylic stains are pretty much thin paint. I prefer to powerwash with TSP, spot scrape, dry and oil prime, one or two coats of Benjamin Moore Arborcoat.

Once you paint, you will always paint. If its a solid color you will always have footprints that wont go away. Best bet is to avoid the scraping of paint and just stay with a semi-solid color stain. You may have to do it every few years but your not scraping every few years.
