    Tower of Babel

Is this story true, or does it need some translation?

I am sure Lenny will jump in with couple of JW links to give you guidance in translation.

Is it a 'story' or an account? There's a difference. An eye witness account no less.

"This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word." Isaiah 66:2b

True humility---do we bow down in humbleness to the authority of God's word?

Put another way; Is Scripture subject to man's reason OR Does man's reason serve under Scripture?
(magisterial vs ministerial use of reason)---Which is the slave and which is the master? Hint: man's reason is tainted by sin.

What does the eye witness account of Babel in Scripture say?

If we doubt the historical accounts in Scripture, then what about the historical accounts of Jesus? Did He really live? Did He change water into wine? (that's impossible) The best one yet, did He really live a perfect life for me and die for me? Without the shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness of sins.

Your question about the story needing translation, when thats exactly what God did, make everyone speak different languages. I just found a little humor in it thats all.

    Nothing wrong with your question!

In Scriptural matters: Reason is a wonderful servant and a lousy master.

GOD was very specific when He said after the flood subsided to go out through out the earth and replantish it. However, against the will of GOD, the descendants of Noah were planning otherwise, hence, GOD in His great mercy decided to correct their plans. GOD's plan worked best after all.

Man makes plans, and GOD has to correct them ( after a good laugh)

Whether or not Noah and his family had to temporarily live in caves is very possible, yet it would not make them 'cavepeople' any more than anyone living in a cave today.

Yes, Jesus human genealogy would be correct according Matt 1 : 1, with the excepting that the harlots and Moabites were left out.

Again, suspicion confirmed about you gathering data, but you do not make it clear for what purpose? Therefore, since you are not a Christian, it can only bring us to one conclusion, which would be to discredit Christianity and those that believe.

I asked you a direct question as to your scope of why you are gathering info on this forum, and as I stated, since you are not a Christian, you intent can't be for good.
