    No-Feedback Steering

I have 2001 Tracker 185 XT / Merc 90 with the original steering. Has anyone changed theirs out with the new no-feedback steering. My question is - do you have to change the steering cable or will it fit the no-feedback. Cable is fairly new, hate to trash it..

If the old helm is Teleflex Safe-T rotary you should be able to just change the helm to the NFB version. Either NFB Safe-T ll (3 turns lock to lock) or NFB 4.2 Rotary(4.2 turns lock to lock).
Teleflex changed their name to SeaStar Solutions http://www.seastarsolutions.com
Its a pretty simple but greasy process. Hardest part for me was getting the darned steering wheel off.
I suggest you call SeaStar Solutions to verify.

I change mine to "No Feedback Steering" from the "Safe T" steering . Did not like the old setup ,...was not safe at all . Too loose ,fight with wheel. Just love the new setup . It's a little stiff, much better than the old setup .
Had to BEAT the crap out of the helm to get the cable out, and I mean it . Changed mine when it was 95 degrees out in the sun .
