don't know how many folks have seen this boat yet, they just got it up on their site. i really like the look and layout of it. i'm just a fun fisher, so i don't need a 19'+ boat.

I definitely like the layout better than the Vexus 181, so much in fact if the Avid 18 had been available when I bought my AVX1880 I probably would have bought it instead.
DAMN that's a wide boat for a rig that length! 2" wider than Xpress. With a 90hp the price shouldn't be bad at all. $23k with the 70 so roughly $25k with the 90. Wonder if that rod organizer can come out so you can just wrap the rods in prophylactics and stack them in there?

i didn't see a price listed. did you get a 23k quote from a dealer? if so, this may be my next boat
Saw that price with the 70hp on the Avid website. Who knows, the 70 might be just fine for most people but that just seems like a lot of boat for that size motor. One of those things where you just max out the hp without thinking about it because you'll regret it later if you don't.

Looks great!
i hope that is the price, i can't seem to find it on their site. i would definitely max it out, even though i don't generally run the big motor much in a day.

Starting at $22,902 with 70hp Yamaha. The speed I like to run the 70 would be fine but I'd still want to run the 90 for the bigger block that would just be chilling vs screaming for its life like the 70 would probably end up doing...like a 75 vs a 60 on the pt175. Would love to see performance numbers on the 70 vs the 90. A percentage of the extra 20hp has to compensate for the extra weight from the heavier motor but the 90 also probably spins a larger diameter prop than the 70 also.

i may be in trouble!! lol
Looks like a nice boat, but a 90 on an 18' boat would make me look at an Xpress a little closer. If they rated it for a 115 it might warrant a look from me.
I'm not a speed freak but it's almost the exact size of my new Xpress X18, which has a 150 on it, and its rated for 90 hp, come on guys, at the very least a 115. Great looking boat but being so under powered will overwork that 90.
Well, it's not quite 18' but does have a 97" beam. They very well could have rated it for a 90 for 2 reasons. First would be they want to meet a price point for the vast majority of boaters that just want to get out on the water in something nice that will go "fast enough". And then with a 90hp there's a pretty good chance the aluminum won't have issues because it's only .100 all around from what I can tell. If you want something that will fly go with the 19xb rated for a 150 or 20xb rated for a 200. For the water I fish the 90hp would be plenty. I'm more than happy with a 75hp on my Tracker that's only slightly smaller.

Nice looking boats. But I'd rather give up a couple inches in the beam and get a 115 hp on the back. Xpress seems to be the only company left building this size boat with the proper hp rating. To each their own I guess.

Looks like a nice rig to me for the money. Speed is not on the top of everyones wish list, and for these size boats is there that much of a difference in performance. I ask because I do not know.
I prefer the layout of the RT188. But, they make all kinds for all kinds of people.
I don't understand the max out the HP guys. Sure I didn't get a bass boat, I got a bay boat, but it is 23ft with a 150 and it will do right at 50!!! Yes the boat had hardly anything in it at the time, but I am good with upper 40's in a boat, hell, I am good with 40. Dealer said I'd get 1-2mph more with the 175 and another 1-2mph with the 200... It was $2700 to upgrade to a 175, I didn't even ask about the 200.
Full disclosure, I like speed, I prefer to get my speed in a car, preferable a road track.
Maxing out the hp makes a boat easier to sell here in the south in my opinion but I think that's more for glitter sleds than anything else. I get what you're saying though. I'm waiting to see performance numbers between the 70 and the 90. I'm betting mid 30's with the 70 and low 40's with the 90. Personally I'd rather have the engine displacement of the 90 for possible added torque and most likely a larger diameter prop.

on avid's instagram someone asked top speed with a 90, and avid replied 47 mph depending on load. i wouldn't think it would go that fast, but i don't know. i get around 38-40 with a 75hp on my pt175tf.
If it's a pad hull I bet it's very possible to hit 47. I got 41.3 the other day out of my 175txw with 75hp in lite chop. That's with an Ultrex and all my gear. She sure was whistling dixie across Maumelle! Was also needing to get back to the ramp in a hurry to take care of something that woulda been too risky/messy for the woods
