Mine seems fine, but with a significant number of reports on the 250 Pro XS smoking, I'm a little concerned. Anyone experienced this issue with the 150?

Mine doesn't smoke. It has other issues, but smoke ain't one of 'em.
Completely different engine - inline 4 vs V6/V8.

Had this issue on a F115 Yamaha, and doing a ton on research on this issue it seems that we as bass fisherman go super fast from spot to spot and then immediately turning off engine, which I am so guilty of, also the big one is the trim engine a little so it is not vertical. When I did this it never smoked, also I did start after a long run I took a little time to let engine cool down a little bit before turning it off.
Forgot to say after doing a lot of research on 4 stroke outboards smoking this happens too Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha it's not just Mercury.
My 150 is not a ProXS, but is same block, basic engine, etc...has NEVER smoked except first start every spring, when burning off the storage seal.
