    Livewell lid sticks

My Tracker 175 TXW livewell lid sticks closed so bad that I have to take a flat screwdriver to pry it open. Am I the only one with the problem? Anybody have a fix?

Silicone water repellant spray on the edges of the lid.

It's really jammed in there. It takes two screwdrivers jammed in it to get it free and tears the carpet.

I’m assuming its the carpet; maybe try shaving the edges a little to make some space so its not so tight.

Mine is real tight also. I have to be directly over the pull handle and pull up pretty hard to open it. I may try the silicone spray mentioned above.

Mine has just started doing this as well. I am assuming it is some swelling from my boat being wet for the last few weeks and haven't really been able to dry it out.

My 2012 190 has done it from day one. I carry a 6 ft. pry bar to get it open.

My 190tx damn near takes a come-a-long to open the right side locker. I tried to singe the carpet with a small torch which didnt work so I may try to shave it down some way... maybe with a bristle cup on a whizwheel.

Use a beard trimmer. You can continue to set it closer and closer for a shorter cut as needed. I re-carpeted my boat with 16 ounce carpet. And I had to trim every hatch down eighth of an inch on the deck side and the hatch side. Now they open pretty easily but snug enough to stay shut.

I took a hammer and beat in the aluminum and it works better. It's still tight though.
